Online Payment System FAQ
Q. How do I enter the state value when setting up a payment account?

A. You MUST enter your two letter state abbreviation with NO punctuation, e.g., FL or TN


Q. What is the “Account Nickname”?

A. This is a name you create to help you identify your Nicholas loan account, e.g., Tom’s Car Loan.


Q. What is the “Bank Account Nickname”?

A. This is a name you create to help you identify a saved payment source, e.g., Tom’s Wachovia Acct.


Q. How do I make a payment using my debit card?

A. Choose “New Credit Card” as the Payment Account to use both debit and credit cards.


Q. What are the guidelines for creating a password?

A. Your password must be a minimum of 8 characters and a mixture of letters and numbers. The last character cannot be a single number by itself, e.g., nicholas2. Examples of valid passwords include: mad53dog, shytown68, 72Circle. Important: passwords are case sensitive, i.e., MarLin42 must be entered as “MarLin42”, not “marlin42”.


Q. What if I don’t have an e-mail address?

A. You can sign up for free e-mail service at websites such as Hotmail.com, Yahoo.com or Gmail.com. Other free e-mail service providers are available. You must have a valid e-mail address in order to use the Nicholas Online Payment Service.


Q. Why is the Amount Due different from my regular monthly payment amount?

A. The Amount Due includes all charges that have been added to your loan balance, such as Late Fees, VSI Insurance, etc.


Q. Can I change my personal information directly on the website, such as my billing address or payment account information?

A. Yes. After logging on to the Nicholas Online Payment Service, select “Manage Profile” from the list of options on the left side of the webpage. From this screen you are able to add/delete/change your payment account types by clicking on “Payment Accounts”. You are able to change or update information about yourself (such as your e-mail address or billing address) by clicking on “Change Personal Information”. IMPORTANT: To change your permanent physical address with Nicholas Financial, you MUST contact your branch directly.


Q. Can I payoff my loan through the Online Payment Service?

A. No. You must use a different method of payment when you want to payoff your account. Additionally, the maximum payment amount allowed to be processed through the on-line payment system is $1,000.


Q. Once I submit a payment, when will it be posted to my loan account?

A. Payments submitted after 5:30pm EST will be posted to your account the next business day (Monday- Friday excluding legal holidays). Payments may not appear on your account for up to 3 days.


Q. Can I make more then one payment on the same day?

A. Yes, as long as the payments submitted are for different amounts. You cannot submit the same payment amount twice on the same day.


Q. How do I set up recurring payments?

A. Once you are logged onto the website, click “Manage Profile” on the left-hand side of the screen. Then choose “Billing Accounts” from the listing that is on the main page. You will see 4 columns: Account Number, Account Nickname, Automatic Payment and Account Status. Click “Add” under the Automatic Payment heading and follow the directions on the screen. IMPORTANT: Your first scheduled payment must be the following business day or later – it cannot be the current day.


Q. Can I make a payment in advance, even if my bill is not yet due?

A. Yes, you can make a payment at any time. You can also schedule payments to be made up to 90 days in the future.
